How to Use A single dose of Capstar (nitenpyram) should kill the adult fleas on your pet. If your pet gets reinfested with fleas, you can safely give another dose as often as once per day. To administer CAPSTAR tablets, place the pill directly in your pet's mouth, or hide it in food. If you choose to hide the tablet in food, watch closely to make sure your pet swallows the pill. If you are not sure that your pet swallowed the pill, it is safe to administer a second pill. We recommend you follow up CAPSTAR treatment with a monthly flea control product such as PROGRAM, Frontline or Advantage. Then keep CAPSTAR on hand for the times when there is a visible flea re-infestation.

This stuff is the real deal. Our family owns three large dogs (between 60-85lbs) and were plagued by fleas over the summer. Each pet was on a combination of both Frontline and Sentinel which still did not prevent the dogs from being infested. Simply parting their fur revealed the little buggers crawling all over them. We tried flea dips (Natural Chemistry brand), combing daily with flea combs, spreading Diatomaceous Earth over the lawn and powdering the pets, and just about every other trick we could think of to no avail. Then came the miracle called Capstar. Within the hour, the fleas were convulsing and dying and within several hours, not a single fleas was alive on them. Although Capstar won't kill the eggs, this was the ONLY treatment that seemed to work. Good luck to you all!

i use this from time to time because where we live the fleas are terrible year round. it knocks them out in a few hours and gives other treatments time to kick in.

My experience with most pet store flea products (shampoos, pills, collars, drops, etc) is that most of them are pretty much worthless. However,if your dog is allergic to or hounded by fleas this is the real product to provide instant relief. It begins killing fleas within minutes of ingestion by your dog. This is usually detected by a short period of moire scratching by your dog because as Capstar takes effect the fleas get to moving. My dog was absolutely miserable before I tried this product. It provides a great deal of relief to a dog that is suffering because of fleas.
To avert doggie misery during the really bad infestation months of summer you should also use a second product like Sentinel flavor tabs, which work for a month to kill flea eggs. The combination work well as Capstar kills instantly and Sentinel prevents eggs from maturing into fleas thereby breaking the reproductive cycle.

My Cocker Spaniel's eyes easily get infected with dry-eye problems and the Terramycin medication is the only ointment/medication that will work. Fast and courteous service.
