The World's Best Flying Disc Dog Pictures Contest Rules:
The focus of the competition is to capture and share amazing images
of dogs leaping, twisting and soaring through the air as they
demonstrate their uniquely canine athletic gifts. The dog pictures
may be taken at any time, but they must belong to, and be the
copyrighted property of, the person entering them in the contest.
Action shots are preferred, but beautiful portraits of dog and some
variety of flying disc together, either at rest, or in motion, are
all that is required.
Have we mentioned we hate rules?
1) The World's Best Flying Disc Dog Pictures Contest runs from April
18, 2006, through June 18, 2006.
2) The winning picture must belong to, and be the copyrighted
property of, the registered user of the DogExplorer.com Dog Picture
Gallery who uploaded the picture.
3) The winning picture will be determined by the votes tabulated by
the DogExplorer.com Dog Picture Gallery "Rating" system results at 9
am, PST, the morning of June 18, 2006.
4) Only one set of prizes will be awarded - for a list please see
below.
5) In the event of a tie vote, DogExplorer.com reserves the right to
split the prize(s) between the winning entrants. It may not be
possible for a tie vote, but this is only our third contest.
6) If there are insufficient entries or votes, at the sole
discretion of DogExplorer.com, no winner or prize(s) will be
awarded.
7) You may not vote for your pictures nor ask others to vote for
your pictures.
8) Duplicate registrations (we log IP addresses) will disqualify
your entry and may result in banning your registration on
DogExplorer.com
9) If in the sole judgement of the DogExplorer.com staff any image
depicts a dog placed in danger to create a flying disc dog picture,
the picture will be deleted and votes forfeited.

DAWG Working Dog Fundraiser Carpinteria 2008

This was the wonderful fundraiser held on August 9, 2008, in Carpinteria, California. The theme was working dogs and there were wonderful demos of herding dogs working with sheep, Police K9 work, and in the dog sports area, the Supersonics of Santa Barbara demonstrated Flyball.

PLEASE READ
Instructions for posting your dog pictures:
First, you must register (click that word "register," it is free and you won't get spammed!)
NOTE: The "Register," "Login" and "Upload file" links are near the top of every page in the dog photo gallery. However, if you are not logged-in you will not see the "Upload file" link. If you are logged in you won't see the "Register" and "Login" links since you are already registered and logged in. Pretty logical, isn't it?
Second, you will get confirmation e-mail at the address you used to sign-up. You must confirm your address before you can use the gallery. This protects all of us from spammers (see, we don't like spammers either.) Confirming your e-mail address requires you to click a link in the e-mail sent to you. This proves to us that you are you.
Third, once you have confirmed your registration, go to the "Login" page and Login with your user name and password.
Fourth, prepare your pictures for upload. Here is an important detail: Please be sure your pictures are saved as either jpg (or jpeg), gif, png or bmp files, AND that their size, per file, is no greater than 60 kb. That’s big enough for a clean picture that's 6 inches in the long dimension at 72 dpi (which is the setting you should use).
Fifth, while logged-in, click that "Upload file" link. Click the "Browse" button on that page to find the picture on your computer. Once you find the picture, either double click its name or click once and then the "Open" button.
When you have finished selecting the picture or pictures you want to upload, click the "CONTINUE" button at the bottom of that page. If your file was the correct size then you will see a page that says "uploads successful" and it will automatically take you to the next step or you can hit the "CONTINUE" button.
This next step is VERY IMPORTANT.
You will be shown a page with this text: "Please place the files in albums at this time. You may also enter relevant information about each file now."
The first line below that will say "Album" (on the far left) and there will be a drop down box with the words "(Dog Breed Pictures) Affenpinscher.
PLEASE: Click the little down arrow on the right side of the drop down box and scroll down until you find (Dog Park Packs) Central Park (New York City, New York, USA). Click that once.
This is critical if you want your dog's picture placed in the Central Park Pack album and must be done for each picture you upload! Then just fill out the rest of the caption information and hit the "CONTINUE" button and you are done!
Tell your friends to check out your pooch, rate your pictures (you can rate others too!) and have some fun. Trust us, it is easier than this looks and gets to be a snap after the first time.
