DogExplorer.com would like to extend an open invitation to all dog rescues, dog clubs or associations, anywhere in the world. If your dog rescue or club would like its very own dog picture gallery and discussion board in our forums, please contact us via the "contact us" link on every page on our main site. We can set-up a forum where just your authorized members may read or post messages about dogs and your club activities. The galleries will be viewable by the public, but we will limit uploads to the gallery to your membership. Oh, this offer of galleries and forums is completely free of charge. But we reserve the right to end the offer of new galleries at any time. *A few additional conditions may apply. Please contact us for the details.

Hi Big Dog, i know someone who runs the best German Shepherd Rescue organisation in the UK. The website is www dot germanshepherdrescue dot co dot uk and if your offer extends to the UK i will contact her to see if she would like to take up your kind offer. She is a remarkable woman with somewhere in the region of 14 dogs in her own home which she can't rehome due to aggression or medical problems and she flatly refuses to put them down. a credit to dog owners she really is. i will get in touch with her once you confirm that it is ok with you. Not sure if she can use a forum but no harm to ask since you were kind enough to offer. She is totally non profit and deserves all the help she can get in my opinion. Thanks Martin

Hi Martin, Our offer is open worldwide - anything we can do to reduce the number of dogs going into shelters and rescues, and, of course, increase the number that come out alive. Please have your friend contact me via our contact us link on the main site. If the forum is no help we can create an album in the gallery for her like these two empty ones. Her album would be listed in the breed specific area. Thanks! Craig (aka the big dog)

Thank you Craig, very generous of you. I will talk to her a.s.a.p. and see if you can help her rescue some of these fantastic dogs which should be anywhere but in a rescue kennel. The dog world needs more people like you!
Will be in touch. Martin

The pleasure is all mine - I'm a better person for having had my late rescue dog, Ansel, in my life. Craig

Yes i think we all are. My wife didn't like dogs many years ago (i knew i had to change her !!) so we went to a shelter and saw this skin and bone GSD lingering in the corner, starving because it wouldn't eat and clearly hating being in there. I said we should at least take it for a walk to get it out, he fell in love with her as soon as she stroked him and this caused her to fall in love back. That was 8 years ago and she goes NOWHERE without this dog, Darcy, big black long hair handsome creature he is too. Done lots of work with him, to get rid of his nerves. He was beaten every day from 6 weeks old, tied to a post in a yard for his entire life (until going to the shelter) and burned with cigarettes and battered with stones weekly. by the time he came home with us, he wet himself if the curtains/drapes(!) blew from the wind coming in the window. I felt physically sick and if i could have got my hands on the man who owned him before, well ....i won't say what i would do, but boy would it be worth going inside for. After 2 years of abuse, the owners's neighbour had enough, and broke in and stole Darcy. He tried to keep him but couldn't handle him due to his nerves and nervous aggression towards everyone, mostly men. He now has pride of place as leader of our 8 dog family, he watches the front, the others watch the back!! He is like a king who has found his throne, and my wife thinks it was the best thing (for herself) that she has even done getting this done and improving his life so much. There is quite simply nothing like a rescue dog. Yes all dogs are great, but one which you know loves you as his saviour from a life of torture and fear will love you unconditionally for ever without question. An amazing bond. Truly amazing,. my wife is writing a book, Darcy's story which will probably take months and months yet, but once it is done we will offer i to everyone in the forum free of charge. The idea is to give it to the rescue GSd charity run by our friend with all proceeds going to the charity. I'll keep you posted. There is nothing quite like a rescue dog. Away for a few days, be back in soon!
