A sad and shocking story follows about the deaths of
80 dogs at the hands of
Pennsylvania dog breeders.
Elmer Zimmerman, owner of
E&A Kennel, is alleged to have shot dead 70 of his dogs while his brother Ammon, is alleged to have shot another 10 dogs. In each case the purported weapon involved was a 22 caliber rifle. They are based in Maxatawny Township, Kutztown, Berks County.
As you will see in the video, it appears in the eyes of the Pennsylvania State
Bureau of Dog Law, to be legal.
All of this came about because the local
Dog Warden ordered Vet checks on 39 of the dogs. The warden was apparently concerned about flea infestations, fly bites, high heat exposure, poor bedding and floors.
Rather than go to that expense of the veterinarian care, the brothers are alleged to have shot all the dogs dead in July.

When it was over, this broadcast report claims Elmer Zimmerman threw the dogs on a compost pile.
And it was all perfectly legal. For now.
