Pet Owners Under Stress In UK Home Rental Market

It is sad but not surprising to learn that dog and cat owners in the UK that have lost their homes are facing even more stress and worry due to landlords refusing to rent to tenants with pets.

According to UK charity Dogs Trust, fully 75% of owners were having trouble finding a place to live that would accept their dog or cat.

Of the 1,400 pet owners surveyed in June 2008, over half said they could not find anywhere that allowed pets.

This echoes the situation in the United States where dogs, cats, horses and other pets are being abandoned as people are unable to provide for their human family members or simply even themselves.
