Diamond Pet Food has announced a 3 million dollar settlement in the class action lawsuit claiming death or injury due to pet food contaminated with aflatoxin mold poisoning. The total amount "of $3.1 million to pay for valid claims and for Court awarded attorneys’ fees, costs, and expenses," according to the settlement announcement released by Diamond Pet Food. Dog owners effected by this are cautioned to pay close attention to the term "valid claims." Owners will have to prove their pets were injured by Diamond Pet Food and that they did not return the food for a refund from the store.
