Two German Shepherd up for adoption

I Have two German Shepherd dogs for adoption. Tazz is 12 years old, and Angel is almost 7 years old. They are both black/tan, and have been spayed and neutered. They are very loyal, loving, good protectors, and spoiled rotton.  Their favorite treat is a hot dog a day, along with their kibble. They eat Pedigree.

I have been threatend to be cancelled by my homeowners insurance, ALLIED, if I do not get rid of them. Below I will post a plea to my insurance comany I just wrote, and that will explain everything.

I am looking for sombebody to adopt both of them, they have never been apart. It is breaking my heart trying to find homes for them, but at the same time, I would never think of having them put down.

Dear Jessica Martinez,

I am writing this letter in response to Allied threatening to drop/cancel our homeowners policy, due to a dog bite.  At the time of incident, our dog was on our property, behind our fence.  A drunken neighbor approached the fence, and fell up on it, and my dog, Tazz thought he was going to attack me, and Tazz bit him. Please consider, Tazz was on my property, in my yard.  I took the man to the Emergency Room, and he assured us he was okay, and he told me not to worry. I have told this neighbor in the past, at least ten (10) times prior to this, to keep away from my dog, but he thought he was some kind of “tough” guy, who wanted to antagonize my dog. We immediately reported it to our insurance company. Allied was the one who contacted him, and pushed the issue.  The neighbor told us he was fine, and he didn’t want to contact our insurance company, that he was okay, he wasn’t even going to file a claim.  Maybe you should consider auditing his past medical records; he probably has a history of doing this.  I have talked with another neighbor and they told me that their dog bit him too.  Their dog was tied to rope in their yard. He came into the yard, they too kept telling him to stay away from the dog, he did not heed the warning, and he was bit on his hand very severely.  An investigation was done on Allied’s part, and now you are telling us that if we do not get rid of the dog, you are not going to insure us anymore. That is so unjust. I believe this is an illegal action on the insurance company’s part.

I hope after reading this letter, and weigh the facts carefully; you will reconsider your decision. For years, we have paid our premiums, and the first time a claim is filed, we are punished. We did not break the law, so why are we being penalized?  Tazz, our dog has had all of his shots, and he was doing what he was meant to do, and that is to protect our property and us!   We live in Lake Los Angeles, where there are no streetlights, we do not own a gun, there are break-ins all of the time, Tazz has been our protection for my family for years.  Tazz has a fenced dog-run, as well as a fenced front and back yard. Tazz is 12 years old.  He is part of our family. We cannot simply have him put down.  There are no dog rescue missions who will adopt out a dog his age. If somebody was to break into and enter our house, and we shot him/her in self-defense, would you cancel our homeowners then too? If you cancel our policy, showing a claim was filed, nobody else will insure us.  That is the other tragedy in this case.
