Adios Gidget, the Taco Bell Chihuahua known for the line Yo Quiero Taco Bell is dead. The little dog who starred in the Taco Bell ads and commercials has died after suffering a stroke.
Published reports quote Karen McElhatton, Gidget's owner, as saying she died on July 21, 2009, at the age of fifteen.
The Taco Bell Chihuahua crossed over the rainbow bridge after a long life of fame and iconic social status. Reports indicate she had been with trainer Sue Chipperton when the stroke occurred.
Small dogs like Chihuahuas can live very long lives but fifteen is a good life span. It is thought Gidget enjoyed a comfortable and loving life.
