West Virginia Puppy Mill Turns Over 1,000 Dogs - Video |
|
|
A puppy mill in West Virginia has turned over approximately 1,000 dogs and puppies in a rescue mission organized and videotape by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS).
The Parkersburg-based breeder surrendered the dogs on 23 August and agreed to never operate a dog breeding business again, according to an account published on the HSUS website.
Among the dog breeds found are the Daschund, Shih Tzu, Lhasa Apso, Yorkshire Terrier, Poodle, Jack (Parson) Russel Terrier, and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. The puppy mill produced new litters as recently as the day of the rescue.
An eyewitness speaking on the video says that there was a very strong smell of ammonia and that tests for ammonia indicated a strong presence.
