DogExplorer.com News - Officials have confirmed that the highly pathogenic H5N1 type of Bird Flu was found in turkeys on a farm in East Anglia, Suffolk, United Kingdom.
Fred Landeg, Acting Chief Veterinary Officer, Veterinary Laboratories Agency, says the infection consists of the Asian highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 strain related to virus found over the Summer in the Czech Republic and Germany.
Some 6,500 birds are to be destroyed in an attempt to control the spread of the infection.
